Classic Industrial Services was contracted by Metro Wastewater to tackle a complex project requiring design, planning, and execution of a scaffold build for a Digester Tank Lid replacement. They would need to erect shoring that could support the weight of an existing digester lid while it was cut free from the side walls of the tank.
Then, once the existing lid was demolished, the scaffold needed to be turned into a dance floor to support welding activities and installation of the new stainless steel lid replacement.
Since 1988, Classic Industrial Services, Inc has been a leading provider of specialty contracting services for the industrial market in the US, and given their expertise and track record, it’s no surprise that they were selected for this complex project.
While the job was challenging enough in scope, the company was also expected to keep modifications to a minimum and the project under budget. In order to eliminate as many potential change orders as possible, they did walkthroughs of the scaffold designs prior to any modifications taking place on site.
With their extensive experience and the aid of Avontus Designer, Classic Industrial Services was able to fulfill their customer’s requirements successfully.
The project started with a hand sketch from the customer conveying what they needed. The Classic team used this to develop a scaffold plan and 3D model using Avontus Designer, which was then successfully executed on site.
